In 2003 Ritson Golf Design were appointed by Graham Parker an artist to carry out a design of a full size golf course in theory only as part of an artistic installation called Line and Length. After walking the land several times, the course was designed as a serious excercise, although without all of the site surveys and constraints which would usually be put upon a design. The public were then invited to walk the course and the flags and tees installed in there current locations and the public were invited to see the varioius views created by the directions of the hole and imagine how the golf course would impact upon the landscape.
